Rapid influenza H1N1 diagnostic test: its diagnostic property
To the editor: The report on assessment of diagnostic properties of rapid influenza H1N1 diagnostic test demonstrated an interesting finding that ‘Rapid tests have high specificity but low sensitivity and thus limited usefulness’. The metaanalysis in this work might have some problems. As different rapid influenza H1N1 diagnostic tests have different basic principles, the use of overall sensiti...
متن کاملthe relationship between learners critical thinking ability and their performance in the reading sections of the tofel and ielts test
the study reflected in this thesis aims at finding out relationships between critical thinking (ct), and the reading sections of tofel and ielts tests. the study tries to find any relationships between the ct ability of students and their performance on reading tests of tofel and academic ielts. however, no research has ever been conducted to investigate the relationship between ct and the read...
15 صفحه اولLow sensitivity of rapid diagnostic test for influenza.
The QuickVue Influenza A+B Test (Quidel) was used to test nasal swab specimens obtained from persons with influenza-like illness in 3 different populations. Compared with reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction, the test sensitivity was low for all populations (median, 27%; range, 19%-32%), whereas the specificity was high (median, 97%; range, 96%-99.6%).
متن کاملDevelopment and evaluation of a rapid influenza diagnostic test for the pandemic (H1N1) 2009 influenza virus.
We evaluated a new rapid influenza diagnostic test for the pandemic (H1N1) 2009 influenza virus by using real-time reverse transcription-PCR (rRT-PCR) and viral culture. The sensitivities were 68.5% and 64.5%, and the specificities were 98.4% and 97.6%, respectively. This kit should be used with caution, and negative results should be verified by a confirmative test.
متن کاملPerformance of the Quidel Sofia rapid influenza diagnostic test during the 2012–2013 and 2013–2014 influenza seasons
The Quidel Sofia Influenza A+B Fluorescent Immunoassay was used to test nasal swab specimens from patients with influenza-like illness at US-Mexico border-area clinics in the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 influenza seasons. Compared with real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, the overall sensitivities and specificities were 83% and 81%, and 62% and 93%, respectively.
